SEO doesn’t have to be complicated or expensive. In this video, we’re giving you 4 tips for doing SEO on any budget.

1. Start with On-Page SEO
Website optimization refers to a lot of the behind-the-scenes organization and structure of your website. Although this isn’t a very glamorous part of SEO, it is incredibly important and can produce results practically overnight if you focus on the right things.

The good thing is, there are a lot of free tools out there that can help with this. By using the free tools, you’ll know instantly which of these areas to focus your efforts on. So this can be a great place for small businesses to start before focusing their efforts on more costly or time-consuming SEO practices.

2. Focus on Content
Once your overall site is in good shape, the next important element is content. When we talk about content, we’re really talking about 2 different kinds of content: Website copywriting and blog content.

For website copywriting think about your homepage, about page, product, or service pages…they all need proper content in order to rank as highly as possible. But not only do you have to write for Google, you also have to write for the human viewer in order to convert visitors into customers!

The other kind of content creation is blog content. You need to publish blog posts on a regular basis to show #Google your website is active and an authority in the industry. We generally recommend that businesses aim for 1 blog post per week.

For both website copywriting and blog content, if you’re on a low budget, you can choose to produce these yourself or you can hire someone like The HOTH, so you can sit back and relax while we carefully craft and optimize your content.

3. Get Backlinks
One of the most critical parts of SEO is backlinks, and that’s not going to change anytime soon.

The key is to do it the right way. Businesses on a small budget will often gravitate towards cheap or spammy link building practices – and this is the last thing you want to do! If Google detects illegitimate link building, they can penalize your site and hurt your rankings.

A great easy win for low budgets is to take advantage of local directories. Directories like Google My Business allow you to publicly list your site on reputable websites, giving you a backlink from a very reputable site.

If you want some link building tactics that really move the needle, guest posts are the way to go.

At #TheHOTH, we use white-hat, manual outreach link building with our HOTH Guest Post product to ensure it’s a safe and powerful way to link build. Guest posting is something you can do on your own for free, but you can also check out our Guest Post product available at a variety of price points.

4. Use the Right Tools
The final piece to SEO on a budget is having the right tools to make educated investments into your SEO.

We’re huge fans of starting with SEMRush. Their tools are strong and can point you in the right direction for less than $100/mo.

The first free tool you have to set up is Google Search Console. The Google Search Console is completely free to use, and it gives you tons of data on your site’s performance – all directly from Google. You can analyze your search traffic, find the terms you’re ranking for, and even get insight into some of the more technical parts of your website that might be hurting your performance.

The second free option is finding SEO tools like the ones we offer at The HOTH. From SEO auditing, to keyword research and content optimization tools, we have tools for everything you need to execute a successful SEO strategy on a budget.

At The HOTH, our premier product HOTH X not only uses SEMrush and Ahrefs, we also have an experienced, dedicated campaign manager using these tools to set your campaign up for success. We also take care of all 3 of the other parts to this video: on-page SEO, content, and backlinks. It’s the perfect hands off solution for businesses who don’t have time to worry about their SEO. And the best part is, HOTH X starts at only $500 a month!
