Local Circles, according to its survey, says there has been an improvement in compliance as 35% of consumers said they can find MRP information, up from 22% in 2018. He said on an aggregate basis, four in five consumers said they couldn’t find expiration date information for packaged products intended for human consumption on e-commerce sites and apps.
The survey found that consumers cited Meesho as an example of a platform that does not display the best before date on packaged products intended for human consumption by consumers. “The old platforms like Amazon, Flipkart and Snapdeal, etc. have the required fields, but some sellers and products still fail to download the expiration date information. “

Local circles received more than 19,000 responses to the survey from consumers located in 345 districts of India, where 64% of participants were men and 34% were women.
